About

Rebecca Yang, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician at College Park Family Care – Prairie Star in Lenexa, KS. She is affiliated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Menorah Medical Center.

Carl Frederick Buechner – American author, Presbyterian minister, preacher and theologian – describes vocation as the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet. Dr. Yang discovered that her deep gladness is rooted in long-term meaningful relationships through the continuity of primary care from birth to end-of-life care.

Her areas of focus include mental and behavioral health, sleep medicine, weight management and ambulatory procedures.

Through her medical training, she enjoyed working with underserved communities, advocating for health equity and practicing medicine with cultural humility. With her Spanish-speaking background and interest in global health, Dr. Yang studied abroad in Costa Rica, volunteered in Guatemala as a medical student, and participated in international rotations in Guatemala and Bolivia during residency.

Dr. Yang earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Spanish. She earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

In her free time, Dr. Yang enjoys traveling, hiking, dancing, martial arts, volleyball, concerts, musical instruments, movie nights and board games.
